The Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 360 km2 (140 sq. mi) not-for-profit wildlife conservancy in Central Kenya’s Laikipia County. It is situated on the equator west of Nanyuki, between the foothills of the Aberdares and Mount Kenya. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy works to conserve wildlife, provide a sanctuary for the great apes, and generate income through wildlife tourism and complementary enterprises for re-investment in conservation and community development.

The Conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. It also houses the two remaining northern white rhinos in the world

Itinerary:

5:00am: Depart Nairobi at 5am and then drive for 2 and half hours

7:30am: Arrive at Nanyuki town and have a stopover at the equator crossing. The Equator is an imaginary line that divides the earth into 2 hemispheres; North and south. There is a big sign where you will be able to take a photo saying you are now crossing the equator

8:30am: Arrive at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and start the first game drive that will last 3 1/2 hours. This will take you to see the chimpanzees and more wild animals on the northern side of the vast conservancy

2:00pm:  Arrive at Serena sweet waters lodge. Here you will have a look at the animals coming to the watering hole in front of the lodge to drink water while you enjoy taking photos of the resident monkeys at the lodge.

2:30pm:  Enjoy lunch and start the afternoon game drive enroute to Nairobi. We will drive to the eastern side of the park where you will be able to visit a blind rhino called Baraka and also be able to see the three Northern white rhinos freely roaming in their vast enclosure

4:00pm: End the game drive and start the drive back to Nairobi to arrive around 7pm where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport at no extra cost.
