Overview:
Hell’s Gate National Park is located in the southern part of Kenya just northwest of Nairobi. The National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley.
The park served as the inspiration for the Disney movie Lion King as well as the movie, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life.
Hell’s Gate National Park provides a variety of wildlife, unusual flora and many species of birds and is one of only two Kenyan Parks where Climbing, Walking and Biking are allowed.
Itinerary:
7:30am: Leave Nairobi for Hell’s Gate National Park. The park is a short 90km drive from Nairobi
8:45am: Stop over at the Great Rift Valley view point on the eastern escarpment to see Mt Longonot, Mt Suswa, and the expansive floor of the rift valley.
10:00am: Arrive at the hells gate national park and commence our bike riding (optional) and walking safari. Your guide will assist you to hire a good bike.
1:00pm: Enjoy a picnic lunch in the Hell’s Gate National Park picnic site with the view of the park and as you watch the animals walking around.
2:00pm: You can choose to go for a further walking safari in Hell’s Gate National park or visit lake Naivasha to enjoy an optional boat ride and see hippos, birds, and the best views of the mountains beyond. You also have the option to visit Mvuke Geothermal spa and swim in a naturally heated and biggest swimming pool in Africa.
3:30pm: Depart Naivasha for Nairobi and arrive at 6:00pm with a drop off at your hotel or the Airport. This marks the end of your 1-day Hell’s Gate National Park tour.
