Hell’s Gate National Park

Overview:

Hell’s Gate National Park is located in the southern part of Kenya just northwest of Nairobi. The National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley.

The park served as the inspiration for the Disney movie Lion King as well as the movie, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life.

Hell’s Gate National Park provides a variety of wildlife, unusual flora and many species of birds and is one of only two Kenyan Parks where Climbing, Walking and Biking are allowed.
