Amboseli National Park Safari
Overview:
This 3-day safari takes you through Southern Kenya towards the Amboseli National Park, which lies in the shadows of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.
Amboseli National Park is known for its large elephant herds and views of immense Mount Kilimanjaro, across the border in Tanzania. Observation Hill offers panoramas of the peak and the park’s plains and swamps. Varied wildlife includes giraffes, zebras, cheetahs and hundreds of bird species. The western section is dominated by the vast Lake Amboseli, which is dry outside the rainy season.
Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
Our Driver/guide will pick you from your hotel or the airport at 7:30 am, then Depart for the Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi – Mombasa highway. We catch the African sunrise as we progress towards Amboseli. The morning drive is via African savanna country dotted with local homesteads and colourful Masai herdsmen grazing their cattle. On arrival at the Amboseli, we will have lunch then proceed for afternoon game drive in search of Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Cheetah, Warthog, Ostrich and more, with Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa’s highest peak) providing a beautiful background.
We will return to the lodge by evening; Dinner and overnight at Oltukai Lodge or similar.
Day 2: Full Day Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, we will proceed for full day game viewing drives. While Mount Kilimanjaro remains in the background we shall marvel at the wildlife and scenery found in this park. Dinner and overnight at Oltukai Lodge or similar.
Day 3: Amboseli – Nairobi
Early morning game viewing drive and then return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, we will drive back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. You will then be dropped off at your hotel within Nairobi CBD or the airport. This will mark the end of the tour.
